Accident 또는 incident?

'accident' 와 'incident' 의 차이점을 아시나요?
'accident' 는 주로 안좋은 결과나 손해를 가져오는 갑자기 일어난 계획되지 않은 사건이에요. 차사고 같은 좋지않은 사건을 말할때 사용합니다.

예문)
"Four people were injured in the accident."
그 사고로 4명이 부상을 입었어요.

"I'm sorry the football broke the glass door. It was an accident and we will pay for the repairs."
축구공이 유리문을 부셔서 미안해요. 이건 사고였고 우리가 수리비용을 지불하겠습니다.

또한 우연히 일어난 사건을 묘사하기 위해 'by accident'를 사용합니다.

우리는 우연히 도서관에서 만났지.

"I ran into my friend by accident on my way to work this morning. It was a lovely surprise!"
